Gordon’s philosophy has been to search for a meaning in architecture expressive of the New Zealand natural and urban environment.  To do this his approach is  to respect the environment in which the building or design is located and develop a design process with the client to create architecture with an evolving and responsive quality.
If the resulting buildings improve with age and use, then these fundamental goals are achieved and enhanced.
